Each spring, Pacific’s Department of Mathematics invites Northern California high school mathletes to test their knowledge in the Avinash Raina High School Math Competition. Trophies are awarded to the top-performing students and schools.
2025 MATH COMPETITION

Compete in an individual exam, listen to a keynote lecture, enjoy a complimentary lunch and be honored at an awards ceremony!

The individual competition is made up of four levels of tests. All levels will contain standards-based questions as well as more challenging, non-traditional problems.
- Level 1 is for students currently enrolled in a geometry course or Integrated Math II. (Geometry Standards)
- Level 2 is for students currently enrolled in an Algebra II or Integrated Math III course. (Algebra II Standards)
- Level 3 is for students currently enrolled in a math analysis, trigonometry or pre-calculus course. (Trigonometry and Mathematical Analysis Standards)
- Level 4 is for students currently enrolled in a calculus course (AB or BC). (Calculus Standards 1.0 – 22.0: No sequences and series)
At each level, the participant who correctly answers the most questions is the winner for that level. In the event of a tie, the student with the fewest incorrect answers will be ranked highest. If there is still a tie, predetermined weighted questions will determine the winner.
